I once asked a very wise man (my father) what he does when
he finds himself in a sales slump. His answer has stuck with me for a
number of years...."Stir it up!" And yes, to the accompaniment to the
Bob Marley tune. This has turned out to
be some righteous Rastafarian advice. It
makes total sense; a sales slump is typically a result of a negative cycle of
activity you have found yourself in. You
are either stuck making the comfortable calls to the people who will take your
call, even though they might not be buying, or you are failing to spend
adequate time prospecting. A lack of
results is discouraging and further dampens your activity levels. The solution?
Simply pick up the phone and stir it up!
